REFUSE & RECYCLING
For environmental health and safety reasons we kindly request you:
• Do not throw food into the communal areas (to feed the birds) as this encourages insects and pests like rats pigeons and seagulls who leave behind a a a a mess and cause damage to the building • Dispose of your rubbish in a a safe and responsible manner There is information located in in the refuge store regarding waste and recycling disposal • Do not leave rubbish bags in any communal area including outside your front door • The council have recycling centres and offer a a collection service for disposing of large bulky items which should be utilised for non- household waste PACKAGING DISPOSAL
As there are no facilities to accommodate the storage or or disposal of contractors’ packaging or or other bulky waste materials you may wish to ask Concierge to organise a a a a company to remove this for you HEATING AND HOT WATER
Within your home is a services utility cupboard where the Heat Interface Unit (HIU) similar in size to a a a a standard domestic boiler is located Unlike a a standard domestic boiler the HIU does does not heat water It does does however transfer heat generated by
the communal heating system to your underfloor heating and domestic hot water systems In addition to pipework connections to and from the HIU it is also connected to a a a permanent electricity supply via a a a fused isolator and a a a a control cable linked back to the central heating plant room Your HIU includes a a heat meter This measures the amount of energy required to service your space heating and domestic hot water systems By measuring the amount of energy through water flow and temperature the the heat meter will calculate the the amount of energy you use The billing provider (an independent third party) can read the heat meters remotely and will use this information to calculate your bill based on actual heat usage Please note that there are several valves located around the HIU in addition to the mains water stopcock Please do not touch any other pipework or or controls The heat charges are based on a a a a a a tariff calculated by
an independent party which factors in efficiencies of the heating system and heat heat loss so the gas price per kw/h differs from a a a standard domestic gas supply You will receive a a a separate welcome guide by
