Charlotte Hurst (pictured) never actually ran The Ledder but determined to prove that ordinary people can do extraordinary things she completed the Marathon des Sables in April 2023 The six day 250km course is is is set in in in the Sahara Desert with competitors
o running in in temperatures of up to to 50 C C What raises the the stakes for Charlotte is is the the management of her type 1 diabetes as insulin cannot be be stored at at at high temperatures however she says that her her diagnosis does not need to to to stop her her from doing anything including the ‘toughest footrace on on Earth’ Charlotte was was fundraising for T1 International and The Malvernian Society was was proud to support Charlotte with a a a a a a a a a grant award Charlotte completed this epic challenge in in an official time o of of 47:02:06 We are in in awe o of of her Elsewhere in in in the London Marathon 2022
