  OM NEWS
Congratulations to Emanuela Camoni (8.04- 06) who got married in Frankfurt in June. Here she is with Sophie Merz (8.04-06) and Katharina Reich (8.04-06).
Congratulations to George Dale (2.08-13), who picked up the award for Best Cinema- tographer for his film, ‘Empoderadas’ and Best Director for ‘Denied’ at the Black Sheep awards in January.
In September we congratulated Grant Dorward (4.81-
86) on reaching
the summit of Le Tourmalet, following in the tracks of those many cyclists over the 87 years that the 2115m Pyrenean climb has featured in the Tour de France.
Congratulations to Sophia Godsland (8.03- 06) who married Chris Johnson in October.
Peter Green (2.72-77) reports that his current appointment as Dean of Chapel and Chaplain of Bishop Grosseteste University has so far been immensely fulfilling. The Chaplaincy is very busy dealing with a lively range of social activities as well as respond- ing to the diverse religious and pastoral needs of staff and students. A significant mi- nority of the students who attach themselves to the Chaplaincy are on the autistic spec- trum – a fact which Peter cannot altogether explain – and they almost invariably make an outstanding contribution to our community. 20% of his time is taken up with teaching theology at undergraduate and postgraduate level and he does some low level PhD super- vision. So far, so good.
In September we had two OMs Jack Haynes (5.14-19)and Alex Milton (5.10-140 in the Worcestershire CCC starting line-up against Glamorgan.
Michael Harwood (7.54-59) worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry for 40 years before retiring 14 years ago. He is a keen vintage car enthusiast, spectator of motor sports and owner of the 1934 short chassis Aston Martin shown in the photo. His wife died a few years ago and he has four daughters and five grandchildren. Recently he met his partner Liz, and both are enthusiastic Morgan own- ers. He hopes to meet up with old friends at the No.7 Reunion this summer.
Congratulations to Maria Henshall (8.06-10), who married Danny Howlett in June. Here she is with her brother and sister Henry Hen- shall (2.09-14) and Lucy Henshall (8.06-11), with bridesmaid, Alice Barron (née Le Bas) (8.06-10)
Congratulations to Aaron King (SH.09.14)
on winning
the Sir David Willcocks Carol Competition. Aaron’s carol, ‘A Spotless Rose’, really impressed
judges John Rutter, David Hill and Jonathan Willcocks. Aaron’s carol was premiered
at ‘Carols at Cadogan’ on Wednesday 18 December. Commenting on the winning entry, John Rutter described it as a sensitive, beautifully-voiced setting of a text made famous a century ago by Herbert Howells; Aaron King’s setting takes its place alongside Lauridsen and Whitacre in the heart-easing genre of ‘new choral gentleness with a spiri- tual flavour’. He added it will find a welcome with many choirs.
Congratulations to Alex Lewis (SH.93-98) who married Grace last summer. Here he is with some OMs who attended the wedding or pre-wedding celebrations. Helen Owusu (3.93-98), Ed Miles (SH.93-98), Francis Lisk (SH.93-98), Sally Okafor (4.95-00) and Sophie Urquhart (4.96-99).
