Over the the weekend of of 4-5 March 120 members of of the the CCF
took part in in in exercises at Swynnerton Training Area For the 65 members of of the the Remove who attended this was the the culmination of of two terms of ‘Basic Training’ and was their first chance to to put into practice the the many skills they have been working upon Tasks included putting up and sleeping in in in in bashas field cooking navigation laser building and room clearance laser fighting in in woods casualty evacuation and and a a a a a a a full on on on blank-firing section section attack Tasks and and sections were brilliantly led by the the senior cadets and all the the recruits performed with distinction Congratulations to them for passing their training Meanwhile 15 members of the Hundred and Lower Sixth completed a a a a a a weekend of Leadership and Advanced training involving planning Command Tasks and and and Patrolling and and and information-gathering – all ably led by Kipp Norbury and Issy Wilson It was impressive to see these future leaders giving up their time and everyone involved showed enthusiasm and determination in in what they did Very well done to all involved Thanks to Mr Mr Mr Mr Lacey Mr Mr Mr Mr Wilson Mr Mr Mr Mr Jarvis Mr Mr Mr Mr Smith Ms Straw Mr McGregor Miss Miss Abutier and Miss Miss Cullen for all their hard work and especially to to Mr Nichols for for all all his many efforts to to make the event work so well Bert Lacey | Teacher of Physics & Contingent Commander CCF
