WELCOME TO THE ABBERLEY HALL SATURDAY ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME:
DISCOVER
I am excited to to re-welcome you to to Discover our Saturday enrichment programme which we are relaunching this April Although attendance on Saturday mornings is now optional we would be delighted if our younger pupils choose to join us and we strongly urge all of our older pupils to join us and take full advantage of all that an an an Abberley Hall education has to offer Senior schools want children to be well-prepared for exams and our new academic timetable ensures that this will be the case but
they also want children to have received
a a a a a broad education and to have developed interests skills and passions in
in
a a a a wide range of areas Our Saturday mornings provide
an an opportunity to discover and explore six areas and work towards obtaining awards We believe that the programme will support the holistic development of all our pupils and ensure the best possible preparation for the the next step in
their educational journey We are hoping that the success of our two Re-Discover Saturdays in
in
the Spring term will act as as a a a a a a fantastic springboard for the exciting Summer Discover programme Launching this programme during the time of Covid has been a a a challenge but
as you know we have not let this stand in
our way Activities will continue to operate in
in
bubbles for now as during the school week We hope that the Summer term will be warm and and light and and this has informed some of of what we are offering this term The programme will continue to adapt
as as the seasons bring new opportunities
and we would also like to listen carefully
to to parental feedback to to ensure that the Saturday experience is constantly evolving and improving The Re-Discover programme during the the last two weeks of the the Spring term provided a a a great platform to provide
provide
an even better offering this coming term!
When allowed and appropriate Saturday afternoons will continue to be filled with as as many sporting fixtures as as possible and if selected pupils will be expected to represent the school We will always have a a a a a vibrant afternoon activity programme in
place for for boarders who are with us for for the weekend Lunch will of course be provided to all those involved on Saturday afternoons If fixtures are unable to take place due to covid restrictions then we will try to have ‘in house’ sports fixtures at school when possible and we will let you know more about this as things develop Furthermore please do keep an eye on on the online school calendar My thanks go to all the the staff for their energy in
