Deduction Games
A long-standing Downs Malvern favourite. Three exciting and
different games, played in one 10-player group, that develop skills of deduction, imagination, bluffing, teamwork, reasoning, and a little skulduggery!
Downs TV
Children learn to appraise the aesthetics of a variety of film content including black-and-white comedy films, live-action, stop motion and spoofs. Framing, setting up shots and editing techniques including effects and transitions, are just some of the essential technical skills covered as children learn to produce their own short videos in this exciting and creative Hobby.
Exploring Printmaking
An introduction into a range of basic printing methods: mono, textured surfaces and different materials.
Farming
Working alongside Mr Nuttall on the school’s smallholding, pupils develop a range of fascinating and valuable skills including planting, harvesting and animal care, whilst developing a strong connection and appreciation of the environment around them and the food they consume.
Golf
Technical, highly challenging and tremendous fun, golf is a sociable Hobby that has many benefits including the opportunity to develop focus and sportsmanship in the great outdoors. Private tuition for players of all abilities is also available.
Horse Riding
Whether a complete beginner or an accomplished rider with many years in the saddle, horse riding is an exhilarating and emotive experience that often ignites a life-long passion for these amazing animals. It is also an excellent way for pupils to build their confidence and learn responsibility. Taken from school at break time to the Guinness Stables in Leigh Sinton by minibus, they are welcome to bring their own protective kit, however, the stables can also supply the protective equipment required. Instruction caters for all abilities from beginner to advanced.
Kwik Cricket
Kwik Cricket is a modified version of traditional cricket that is designed for children.
It is a fast-paced and exciting game that features simplified rules and equipment, making it easier for children to learn and enjoy. Kwik Cricket can be played indoors or outdoors and can accommodate various team sizes, making it a versatile and inclusive sport. The game focuses on developing essential cricket skills such as batting, bowling and fielding whilst encouraging teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship.
