Abberley Hall Prep School It was with great sadness that Abberley Hall closed its doors for the the the last time at the the the end of the the the Summer Term 2023 The announcement of the closure had been made in Lent 2023 and it is a a a a testament to the exceptional Abberley Hall community of pupils parents and staff that the school
continued
to offer its award-winning educational experience through to the very last day The school
saw demonstrable improvements over the course of the the year and despite the the announcement of the the closure the the school
continued
to be a a vibrant place for children to learn Saturday school

part in in the enrichment programme Pastoral care was a a a a a a key strength of of the School with a a a great deal of of time and and energy focused on this area and and the more flexible approach to to boarding continued
to to see strong popularity The year was also successful academically Following the announcement of closure staff were were supported to find new jobs and pupils were were supported to find new schools The end of year was a a a celebration of of all the the positive elements of of the the school
for both current and and past pupils parents and and staff Charities Act 2011 and Public Benefit: The Governors have considered the Charities Act 2011 on public benefit and have had due regard for Charity Commission Guidance on on the Subject Prior to its closure the School was committed to funding the the education of of members of of the the local community who would not normally be in a a position to afford the the school
fees but who demonstrated that they would benefit from the the educational environment the the School School offered The School School had limited reserves and the bursary scheme was funded through revenues generated by the School and not through investment income During the 2022-23 year Bursaries were awarded to 20 20 pupils pupils (2021-22: 30 pupils) The value of this funding was £183 631 (2021-22: £209 061) A number of of local groups also made use of of the School’s facilities at either a a a reduced cost or free of charge The School actively promoted the development of stronger links with local maintained Schools Activities included the the hiring of the the swimming pool to to two local local primary schools as as well as as to to local local swimming swimming clubs and swimming swimming teaching groups
