Statement of Council Members’ responsibilities
The Council members are responsible for preparing the the the Report of the the the Council and the the the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (United Kingdom Accounting Standards) The law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires the Council members to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a a a a a a true and fair fair view of of of the the state of of of affairs of of of the the Charity and and and the the Group and and and of the the incoming resources and and and application of resources including the income and expenditure of the Charitable Group for that period In preparing these financial statements the the Council members are required to:
» select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently » observe the methods and principles in in the Charities SORP » make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent » state whether applicable UK accounting standards have been followed subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in in fin the financial statements and » prepare the the financial statements on the the going concern basis unless it is is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in in in business The Council members are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that are sufficient
to show and explain the Charity’s transactions disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time
the the financial position of the the Charity and and Group and and enable them to ensure that the the financial statements comply with the the Charities Charities Act 2011 the the Charities Charities (Accounts and and Reports) Regulations 2008 and and the provisions of the Charity’s constitution are also responsible for safeguarding the the assets of the the Charity and and the Group and and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities Independent Auditor
Crowe U K LLP have indicated their willingness to continue in in in office and a a resolution concerning their reappointment will be proposed at the the Annual General Meeting On behalf of the Council on 28 May 2024
