Work Experience
Pupils in the the Hundred and Lower Sixth are strongly encouraged to spend one week of their holidays on on on work experience placements closely linked to their own interests and possible future career paths This enables pupils to gain invaluable first-hand experience of of the the world of of work and and provides an an an an important link between the the careers information and and and advice given in in the the Lower School and and and the the exploration of and and and application to Higher Education which forms the the main focus in in the the Sixth Form Work experience also has educational value and and can be used when making university applications and and cited
as references We recommend that work experience placements should be for a a a a a a minimum of one week and a a a a a a maximum of two weeks during which time the the pupil should be exposed to the the routine working-day demands and disciplines of the the organisation in in which they have secured a a a a a a a place Ideal times for work experience would be in the the the holidays after after the the the Hundred year year and/or after after the the the Lower Sixth year year Pupils should consider the following criteria:
» They are placed in in a a a working environment of their choice » Their placement is near their home or other family accommodation » Their placement takes place place during the school holidays Although the the College cannot arrange placements the the Head of Work Experience
