Eco-Fashion Warrior
Sustainability is a major challenge in the world of fashion today and a key element of a Malvern College education as personified by Year 6 Visual Arts Scholar, Umika N from Malvern College Tokyo who was a prize winner in the Japan Shoes Industry Association, ‘Fashion Shoes 2024’ contest. The competition theme was based on ‘recyclable shoes’ with Umika’s design placing first amongst 1,261 entries with her illustration featuring reused packaging from snacks, drinks and confectionary. Umika received her prize at the annual awards ceremony which took place in Kobe.
Move over Mona Lisa
Annabel, a Year 3 artist from Malvern College Hong Kong has achieved something most painters can only dream of in having one of her works of art displayed at the Louvre in Paris, France. Competing against almost 2,000 other students from around the world, Annabel won the Gold Medal at the prestigious UWEE Louvre International Art Exhibition competition. Her winning ‘masterpiece’ will be displayed in the Delorme Hall at the Louvre throughout 2024.
