  INFORMATION FOR FORCES FAMILIES
 FAST FACTS
YOUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME
We are a traditional, co-educational full Boarding and Day School for children aged 13 to 18. The Malvern College family of schools includes two UK Prep Schools and five overseas schools. The UK Prep Schools are The Downs Malvern and Abberley Hall School – both are in Worcestershire.
The Headmaster of Malvern College is Mr Keith Metcalfe. He was educated at Monmouth School and Downing College, Cambridge.
He came to Malvern College in April 2019 from Harrow School where he served as Deputy Headmaster.
Malvern College’s facilities includes 11 Boarding Houses, classrooms, sports complex, science centre, newly refurbished theatre, music school, playing fields, cricket pitches, tennis, squash and rackets courts all lie within its 250-acre campus at the foot of the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire.
As a traditional full Boarding and Day
school, boarders and day pupils are allocated a House. Each pupil has a Housemistress or Housemaster who will help them prepare
for life beyond Malvern.
In the welcoming atmosphere of each House, there is a dining room, pupils eat all their meals in the company of House staff, teachers, tutors and other members of their House and visitors.
Catering at Malvern is provided by Holroyd Howe, and overseen by a General Manager and Executive Chef. The menu choice at each sitting caters for every taste and dietary requirement and there are different menus for girls houses and boys houses. There is regular dialogue and feedback from pupil representatives, and House Chef’s to ensure that the selection is varied, nutritious
and delicious.
Once a term a “Dining Together” event is held which sees all 11 Houses eating together in The Gryphon Room. All Houses have their own kitchens, laundries, pupils’ kitchen and recreation rooms.
All Houses produce plays, singing groups, and compete on many and varied inter-House events. At weekends, once classes conclude at Saturday lunchtime, there are plenty of activities taking place. Sunday is a day to relax with no formal activities, unless pupils choose to take part in pre-arranged activities.
