Housekeeping and Safety
Fire Safety and Security
• Fire escape routes
On arrival, please familiarise yourself with the building and various exit points. Your group leader will show you the fire assembly point.
• Alarmed fire doors
Alarmed doors are clearly marked and should not be opened UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY.
• Aerosol / deodorant sprays
These should only be used in the bathrooms.
• Please note that Malvern College is a non-smoking campus and a nut-free zone.
• For both fire safety and security reasons, please do not prop open any doors.
Access and Swipe cards
• Card Access System
The Boarding Houses are only accessible using pre-programmed swipe cards. Access cards are issued to the main group leaders for younger residents, and to all adult residents in other groups. Please keep your card with you at all times. At the end of your stay, please return your card to your group leader or a member of the Enterprises Team. Missing cards will be charged at £10 each.
• On Site Residents
Malvern College staff and their families live in the Private sides of the Boarding House. We ask you to respect their privacy and keep noise to a minimum, especially before 8:00 and after 22:00.
Practical Stuff
• Wi-Fi
There is wi-fi throughout the campus and the log in and password details are available from your group leader.
• First Aid
There is a First Aid kit provided in each house, and this is kept by the main front door.
• Lost Property
Please contact a member of the Enterprises Team if you lose anything, or need to hand a found item in.
Housekeeping
As a community we are committed to creating a greener and more sustainable environment.
Communal areas are cleaned daily and bed linen is changed weekly.
• Energy Conservation
Please turn off lights when they are not in use to help us save energy and reduce our carbon footprint.
• Waste Disposal
Please dispose of rubbish using our designated recycling bins whenever appropriate. This helps reduce waste and supports our sustainability efforts.
• Broken Glass
If there is any broken glass please contact the Enterprises Team to arrange for safe disposal.
