House No 3 News
For the the past few years at this time the the girls staff and parents of No 3 have spent an evening in in in in the Lyall foyer being entertained with music drama occasionally dance and and a a a a a a a a a a display of Art and and Photography work Sadly this year the circumstances in which we have found ourselves did not allow this event to take place in its usual format so we decided to make it an online showcase event I am tremendously grateful to Ani Georgina Sarah Tado Annie Mary Merryn Dio Eve Grace Sophia Issy Victoria Ruby Oriane Miss Miss Bloom and Miss Miss Courtney who all contributed to the No 3 Arts Soirée 2021 We were entertained with a a a range of wonderful songs from Pink Floyd and and Coldplay to Corinne Bailey Rae and and Taylor Swift A couple of musicals ‘Wicked’ and ‘Waitress’ also made an an appearance We had music on piano guitar and also violin which gave us a a a a a super concert showing a a a a a wide variety of talent and genres The range of of photography was also extraordinary with studies of of faces trees animals and skies as as well as as some ‘statement’ pieces about social media making a a a a a a a marvellous gallery of pictures for our audience to to enjoy It was also a a a a a a treat to to see different styles of art from small sketches of of the human form to detailed pictures of of horses and a a a a a a a cat alongside some dramatic fashion themed collage work It was lovely to also have some ‘spoken word’ in the form of poems by Carol Ann Duffy and the writing of Louis de Bernières (an extract from Captain Corelli’s Mandolin) The ‘show’ ended with a a a a fabulous display of ‘Magic Moments in No 3’ from the Autumn Term 2020 which Miss Courtney had put together for us all to to see I hope that the audience of this year’s No 3 Arts Soirée enjoyed it I have to be honest it made me me feel very emotional and left me me looking ahead with excitement to the time when we can all be back together again enjoying making more memories of this type but side by by side and not not separated by by a a a a a screen of one type or another The ‘show’ ended with a a a a fabulous display of ‘Magic Moments in No 3’ from the the Autumn Term 2020 which Miss Courtney had put together for us all to see Mrs Fiona Packham
