House Funds
These are 3 House budgets:
Alcohol
• Primarily for the entertaining of parents and sixth form pupils in the House (Leavers’ Ball, birthday suppers, Leavers’ supper, etc).
Free Issues
For additional food on top of the 3 meals a day (+ morning/afternoonbreaks) + special House events eg:
• Christmas Dinner
• Birthday suppers
• Leavers supper
• Commem
• Leavers’ Ball extras
• Tutors’ suppers
• Arts’ evenings
• Sixth Form suppers
• Parents’ lunches/evenings
• Cup Suppers
• Junior/Senior Suppers
Additional food usually takes the form of:
• Bread
• Cereal
• Milk
• Choc spread etc. plus
• Filter coffee costs
• Vending costs
House Funds
• Newspapers
• Piano tuning
• Cwm Llwch
• Food and drink eg. pizzas etc.
• Flowers for House
• Christmas Decorations
• Engraving House Trophies
• House photos
• Small items of furniture
• General House discretionary expenditure
• TV Subscription Services, eg Sky Sports
Large items eg House sports kit, large items of furniture and equipment (eg TVs) are split into separate budgets. These budgets are overall and controlled/reviewed by the Finance Bursar. The Houses apply to these budgets for approval before expenditure is incurred – this takes away large swings in expenditure from year to year on House Funds.
