ACTIVITY 1
Sports Leaders
This activity is a fantastic opportunity to start your coaching journey. You will have the chance to lead sessions, coach the younger children and create and deliver your own activities and ideas. You will learn all about how to deliver a great sports session and if you feel like coaching sport could be something you’d like to do when you are older, this is a great place to start!
OFFSITE ACTIVITY
Clay Pigeon Shooting Club*£
Clay Pigeon Shooting Club will take place at Park Farm Shooting Ground on the edge of Ombersley and the cost will be approximately £35 per pupil per morning. This fee will include transport, instruction, the use of guns and all equipment, cartridges and clays. The club can accommodate up to 15 pupils who must be in Removes or above and must weigh over 6 1⁄2 stone. Pupils will develop skills over time and the hope is that they will attain a level where they can enjoy competing against other schools and in club competitions. This will, of course, take time and commitment. The ground is CPSA registered and is fully insured. All members of coaching staff are fully qualified Safety Officers and Shooting Instructors with a history of coaching youngsters to basic competition level and
far beyond. We will have one coach for every 5 children as a minimum. Pupils will first be instructed on all aspects of safety in the world of shooting before their eye dominance will be assessed to ensure they start out shooting from the ‘correct’ shoulder for them. As well as getting all these basics in place, coaches will strive to help our pupils to achieve their own goals in shooting, whether that be on the
clay range or the game field, to club
level, competition level or beyond, all in a very encouraging and friendly environment. For more information about Park Farm Shooting Ground, please have a look at their website www.parkfarmshoot.co.uk.
This is an exciting opportunity to discover what could become a lifelong passion. Remember, places are limited!
