Debating Club
This house believes that debating is a fun
and important way to build critical thinking skills, develop oracy and establish confident communication. The emphasis on impromptu speaking allows an exploration of language and teaches us to think on our feet. The
skills of analysis, organisation and clarity are fostered and honed alongside learning to listen and cultivating persuasion techniques that are as old as society itself. Each week we will delve into topical subjects, which will be fiercely discussed.
Basketball
This is always a very popular sport with Abberley children. We will learn all aspects of the game and enjoy plenty of time in match situations.
