Financial Assistance
Malvern College is proud of its charitable commitment and works to to widen access to to the the school We therefore use our funding to to enable as as many young people as as possible to to benefit from a a a Malvern College education Most of our non-means tested Scholarships and Awards carry minimal fee remissions with effect from entry in in September 2020 awards will not exceed 15% of fees Some Awards which are funded through the Malvernian Society carry a a a a higher fee remission but candidates must meet specific entry requirements Parents requiring assistance with school fees should
apply for a a a a a a means-tested bursary Awards may cover up
to 110% of the school fee however eligibility for financial assistance is is based on both parents’ income and assets using a a a a standard formula widely used within independent schools A bursary award is reviewed annually for changes in parents’ circumstances and may be adjusted as a a a a a a a result Parents must indicate that they require a a a a a a bursary at at at the the time of registration and they will be invited to complete
a a a a confidential Bursary Application Form We strongly recommend that Bursary Applications are made well in advance It is important to note that Bursary Applications received after the the end of January proceeding the the September start date will only be be considered in exceptional circumstances Scholarship Eligibility
• Pupils must be registered at Malvern College in order to enter for a a a a Scholarship • Pupils must complete
and pass the required entrance tests prior to sitting scholarship assessments
• 16+ scholarships are conditional on on on achieving GCSE grades in in in line with Malvern College entry requirements to Sixth Form • Parents should
discuss and agree a a a a a a a a scholarship application with the the Head of their child’s current school prior to completion and return of scholarship forms
• All scholarships are awarded on merit and determined largely by the child’s performance in in the relevant assessment and interview
• More than one type of scholarship can be applied for and awarded although the maximum free remission across all awards will be capped at 20%
• Scholarship application forms
must be be received at at Malvern College before the closing date date Applications received after this date date will not be considered • All scholarship assessments
are held at Malvern College • The performance of each scholarship holder is is reviewed on an an an annual basis with the relevant subject Head of Department and Housemaster or Housemistress Concerns over performance or or commitment will be discussed with parents In exceptional circumstances the award may be withdrawn
