Mainstay: Response to Tender | Project Acanthus - Part One
21. Provide a brief overview of your corporate level disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
We have built a framework to manage our business operations in response to an incident. The process basically has two aims:
» Minimise the risk of a disaster happening
» Maximise the ability to recover should a
disaster occur
Our approach, at site level where our operations are located, includes a distinct critical incident management plan aligned to site-specific emergency response procedures. Overall responsibility for invoking the business continuity plan sits with Luke Sanders – Group Managing Director.
The framework builds in specific:
» Key contacts in the business (Incident Management Team) in the event of a critical incident occurring at head office or on a scheme
» Emergency services and key suppliers identified to maximise the timeliness of assistance request to shorten recovery/restoration of operational effectiveness
» Risk analysis of key threats/disasters that could occur, along with these key threats/disasters. We have identified key team members who would lead the business response (in addition to the incident management team in recovering operational effectiveness, including identifying/setting out key responsibilities and contacts to ensure disaster recovery activities are attended to expeditiously)
» Emergency pack checklist – identifying useful information/ resources to support a successful recovery, should a disaster occur
» Identification of emergency action planning to enable effective and immediate action to take place should a disaster happen by identifying effective and practical procedures to follow relating to key disaster areas
» Assessment of disaster impacts on operational effectiveness, and access denial trigger periods – setting out relocation options on a short, medium and long term basis, and prioritising departments/functions within a desk relocation priority plan to recover operational effectiveness
» Testing and maintenance of the plan
» Review of business interruption main warranties and conditions, outlining key contacts and provisions in-scope to support recovery of operational effectiveness following a catastrophic failure of service delivery
