Malvern Times
It is now breaktime and Mr Newman enjoys a slice of walnut and coffee cake with a mug of strong coffee (thanks to Carla and Rowan), just what he needs for two further lessons and a ‘Chemistry Clinic’ at 4pm. This is when Lower School pupils arrive loaded with questions on any aspect of their Chemistry studies. The Sixth Form ‘Chemistry Clinic’ starts at 7:15pm in the library. It is somewhat like ‘speed dating’ as the Chemistry Teacher on duty speaks with each pupil and helps them with their work.
“It really is all about working as a team, preparation, and dedication. The reward is seeing the faces of pupils who suddenly understand a theory, crack a formula, and begin to ask questions with genuine curiosity and intent. This is what makes it all so worthwhile,” added Mr Newman, as Malvern Times hastily left - the smell was really awful!
