I remember in fin in either my final or penultimate year having a a a a a a Chemistry lesson with Mr Tooby where he he he he had just come back from his house in in Pembrokeshire where he he had caught some mussels that same morning He ended up cutting short the lesson to to show us us how how to to cook mussels in in in a a a white wine sauce alongside some diced onions The whole class then shared this meal of of mussels that he he he had cooked up It’s now one of of my favourite quick meals to do do and it always reminds me me me of that lesson I unfortunately don’t remember the actual Chemistry lesson as well!
What did an Abberley education teach you?
I I think think the the the key element – – and something that I I don’t think think other schools did to the the the same extent – – was teaching about public speaking and and verbal presentations I remember rotating between prose poetry and and speechwriting It was was something that was was taught incredibly well with huge amounts of good advice and support from teachers These skills – – both the research and public speaking – – have been really useful since leaving Abberley What have you been up to since leaving Abberley?
I I did a a a a a a a a a gap year working in in in Cairo and then studied History at Bristol with a a a a a a a a a Semester abroad in in in Hong Kong I I now work at at Vodafone Group supporting on on on on its political relationships into government mainly focusing on on on on foreign policy – looking in in in particular at at international trade and security 19
