Malvern College is fundamentally about community and it it it is known for its its strong academic focus its its family atmosphere its its wonderful pastoral care and its its global outlook We embed all of these into our daily lives at Malvern and seek not only to raise pupils’ IQ but also and and arguably more importantly raise their EQ and and CQ Emotional Intelligence (EQ) relates to to “a person’s ability to to use use and to to adapt their their emotions to to further their their cause in a a a a a positive manner” whilst Cultural Intelligence (CQ) will influence “someone’s ability to interact and perform in in a a a a a multicultural context or or environment both of which are so very important in in our changing world ” EQ is is now a a a a crucial skill for children to learn It is is not simply a a a a cliché or or buzzword it is real Research suggests that children with with high EQs are more likely to succeed than children without it it because their entire attitude and purpose lead them to be be able to build relationships be more open in discussion and - not to to put too fine a point on on it it - simply get on on better with other people in a a more positive fashion 10
