Bubbles
During the school day
All pupils will be a member of a ‘bubble’ and every effort will be made to ensure that these groups are kept apart. Day children will remain in these set groups for every aspect of their school day
but boarders will also be a member of a boarding ‘household’. The size of a bubble is for each school to decide and advice is that bubbles should enable the continuation of a broad and rich curriculum. Some large secondary schools will have bubbles consisting of up to 200 pupils. We aim to keep our bubbles small so that if there were to be a positive case then a smaller section of the school would be required
to isolate. Staff can operate across different classes and year groups in order to deliver the school timetable and this means that subject specialist teaching will continue.
Each bubble will have a ‘base’ where they will have assemblies and congregate when necessary. They will be encouraged to be outside wherever practical.
We will establish five bubbles as follows:
1 Nursery 1, 2 and Reception 2 Years 1 and 2
3 Forms 1 and 2
4 Removes and Shells
5 100s and Top Year.
Within these bubbles, controlled mixing of pupils will be allowed but there will be separation from other bubbles.
