thread
Spun fibres used to sew fabric together.
needle
A small slender piece of metal with an eye that is used for sewing.
running stitch
The simplest stitch. Small even stitches which have a gap between that run across the cloth without overlapping.
back stitch
A double stitch that creates a solid line.
Laced running stitch
A running stitch that has another colour thread woven through it.
blanket stitch
A stitch used to reinforce the edge of thick materials.
Embellishment
Adding decoration to your work using beads, buttons or sequins.
