I now now know was was was a a a a a a a a a door door to to a a a a a a a a a safe but
we all thought there there was was some kind of monster living there!”
“I have memories
of being in in in a a a a a a a dormitory in in in Southlands that had a a a a a a a a a a gas fire There were four of us us in in in in the the dorm and and on on occasions at at night we we used to to sneak down into the the dining room –

where tables had been laid for breakfast –
–
and and and take take bread butter and and and marmalade and and and take take it back upstairs to to make toast on the the gas fire in the dorm!”
“As we we we we progressed up the the school we we we we were allowed to join the the boys from Malvern College for Scottish Dancing on on Sunday afternoon Of course it it was was more about about the the boys than it it was was about about the the dancing –

and to play postman –

as as as we would go down with with our pockets stuffed with with notes to pass on from Ellerslie girls!”
“I remember the the wonder of our first Christmas Carol service We went down to the the beautiful Chapel at Malvern College and and rehearsed carols There were readings the the the choirs sang sang a a a a a a a a a a a a a Christmas anthem and and a a a a a a a a a a a a a a girl in in the the the the Upper Sixth sang sang a a a a a a a a a a a a a a solo The excitement built and and on the the the the last day of term our parents arrived –
Fathers in in dark suits and and and Mothers wearing hats and and we we as a a a a a a a a a a a school put on a a a a a a a a a a a great ‘performance’ before returning to our our houses collecting our our trunks and going home for for the Christmas holidays ”
