The Music department’s educational and artistic philosophy is is founded on intensive teaching with plenty of opportunities for performance within a a a a a a full and varied concert calendar In the Foundation Year Year (Year 9) all pupils follow a a a a a short course in music Pupils in the Remove and and Hundred (Years 10 and and 11) can opt to follow the the the GCSE course in in Music and the the the subject is offered in in the the the Sixth Form at at at A level and within the International Baccalaureate Diploma A number of our musicians win instrumental and choral awards to university or or music colleges Approximately 300 individual music lessons are taught each week Central to all this activity are the School Orchestra Chamber Orchestra Concert Band Band Jazz Band Band and and and Chamber Choir Pupils take part in in in the ever-popular annual House House Singing and House House Music competitions and we regularly stage ‘Unplugged’ concerts of contemporary and popular music Malvern is also a a a a a a a a rehearsal and and concert venue for many local and and national ensembles including the the National Schools Symphony Orchestra the the Malvern Malvern Festival Chorus and Malvern Malvern Winds 5
