Effort grades
Pupils will still receive effort grades for their endeavours both in lessons and on independent work and projects. Tutors will discuss the adapted effort grade descriptors with their pupils during their tutor meetings in the first week and review them every week thereafter.
Pastoral Support
The tutors will continue to support the holistic development of all their tutees. They will also ensure that the pupils are safe and happy, as well as supporting their pupils with any issues and work as the term progresses.
Tutors
Form One, Two and Remove pupils will meet at least twice
a week with their Tutor. These meetings will be set by their Tutor and will be ‘group sessions’ with several members of their year group.
Shells, 100s and Top Year pupils will meet with their Personal Tutor twice during the school week. Their Tutors will contact them in the first week to arrange their tutor slots.
Contact
Whilst each pupil will have their two designated slots with their Tutor, pupils can also contact their Tutor or Mr B-T (Head of Pastoral Care and DSL) outside of these times for extra support or advice. In addition to this, there is a daily slot for all pupils to contact Mr B-T where he will be available to respond and support.
Showups
Pupils can still receive show ups for excellent effort or outstanding pieces of work. Showups will
also still contribute towards
each patrol.
Outdoors and Active
Much like the normal school
day, as part of the timetable each pupil will still have a time for Physical Activity or Outdoor Education. How this will work will be explained by Mr B-T during each year groups’ Outdoor and Active lesson.
