 SPANISH
The Bridging Course for Spanish will focus on two key skills needed for A Level and IB study. Firstly, the ability to produce Spanish that is grammatically accurate, and secondly the ability to access material independently in the target language and use this to build and develop one’s vocabulary.
The grammar section of course will involve consolidation and deepening of knowledge of grammar covered in the IGCSE course, with a particular focus on the following elements:
» Present tense verbs including stem changing verbs and reflexives
» Preterite verbs including irregular and stem changing verbs
» The imperfect tense including its use
» Gender of nouns and agreement and apocapation of adjectives
» Future and conditional tenses
The cultural element of the course will see pupils guided through accessing target language resources from a range of topics and contributing to a class blog. There will be a final research element where pupils will deepen their understanding of one element of Hispanic life by working in pairs to present on this.
