 ABBERLEY ADVENTURES
7
   Calendar
As mentioned above, our calendar for the term is available through the website and we will be updating this on a regular basis. We won’t be printing the calendar for now as we envisage that things will be changing as the term unfolds. We hope to introduce some day trips for the children and we may introduce some sports fixtures against other schools if we can. Parents meetings may be required to be held virtually and we may or may not be allowed to invite parents in for school events as the guidance and national picture develops. We will do our very best to keep you informed and, as you know, we are keen to do as much as we can, within safety guidelines, to provide a rich and fulfilling Abberley Experience.
Water Bottles
Another reminder please that every pupil must have a clearly named water bottle to be used for sport and for lessons. No glass bottles please. Day children should take these home to be washed every week. Boarders’ bottles will be washed at school.
Face-coverings
As I write this the government has just issued new guidance on the use of face-coverings in schools for children aged 12 and above.
“Nationwide, while the government is not recommending face coverings are necessary, schools will have the discretion to require face coverings in communal areas if they believe that this is right in their particular circumstances.”
It’s a difficult call to make but I would like children in Years 7 and 8 to bring two or three washable face-coverings in to school with them so that they are available if the need should arise. The guidelines may change before the start of term!
