Girls' Clothes List
Sixth Form
We do like our Sixth Form
pupils to look smart and set a a a good example to the Lower School Your daughter may have other ideas as as to what she should wear in the Sixth Form
but what follows is the official and enforced version Suits
Sweaters
In colder weather a a a a classic fine knit v-necked sweater or or cardigan may be worn with the shirt and jacket This should be one colour preferably dark and easy-care for the laundry Sixth Formers may wear a a a a fine knit (not ribbed) plain-coloured polo necked sweater in in place of the the shirt and v-neck if they wish Chunky knit or ribbed sweaters with large or cowl collars are not acceptable Overcoats
If an overcoat is needed during inclement weather this should be of a a a formal cut and of one dark colour (black navy blue or dark grey) it should be 3/4 to full length Padded jackets hoods and fur trims are not suitable for school Pupils can look very smart but then put on a a a a casual jacket which can look rather scruffy especially on on formal school occasions The picture shows an an example of an an acceptable coat Shoes
Classic design not too pointed at the toe with heels appropriate to the campus no higher than 5cm and sturdy not metal tipped kitten heels and certainly no no stilettos Platform shoes black trainers “wedges” and deck-shoes are not permitted The base of the heel should cover a a 5 pence piece Whilst leather or suede are acceptable shoes shoes must be smart Also shoes shoes with a a a a a higher front are desirable ‘court’ shoes have a a a a a very short life here on the the hillside in in in the the winter rain These should be business suits of a a classic design not bought as separates and in traditional materials not velvet corduroy or or linen You may choose black dark charcoal grey or navy blue - with a a a a a faint pinstripe if you wish Lighter colours are not acceptable The jacket can be be worn with either skirt or or trousers Skirts should be be on the the knee if if short and mid-calf if if longer they should not have revealing splits either at the the sides or or back nor should they have lace or pleated hems Skirts must not be heavily lycra based - i i e e e e e they must be smart and not too tight Both skirts and trousers should fit on the waist or just below not at at ‘hipster’ level so that blouses remain tucked in in Belts must be be plain and buckles should not be be ostentatious Trousers must must be tailored i i i e e e e e e they must must not be too tight or or resemble leggings or or ‘jeggings’ Except during warmer weather a a a a a a jacket must be always worn when at school Ideally each girl should have two suits for weekly wear (washable trousers and skirts if you can get them) and a a a a a a ‘best’ for for formal occasions - there are more of these in in the the Sixth Form
e e e e e e g formal dinners with guest speakers A House badge should be worn on the jacket lapel at all times Blouses
Again of classic design with a a a a collar to be worn open necked they may be striped or checked as as well as as plain but we do prefer light colours to be worn with the dark suits Blouses
must be tucked in no exposed midriffs please Short sleeves are permissible in the summer months Any t-shirts worn for extra warmth should remain invisible Blouses
