MALVERNIAN SOCIETY
MALVERN CMOALLVEEGREN COLLEGE
Opening up Education
Philanthropy plays a vitally important role at the College. The Malvernian Society is extremely grateful to former pupils, Old Malvernians (OMs), parents and Friends of Malvern College who generously support their work. The generosity of OM’s enhances our campus and the exceptional facilities that our pupils enjoy during their time at Malvern. It also enables pupils, for whom a Malvern education would not be achievable, through scholarships or financial assistance to attend Malvern College. Antonia and James are two former pupils (Old Malvernians) who, through the support of the Malvern Society, were educated at Malvern College and have gone onto pursue professional careers.
Ani is a current pupil and like Antonia and James has benefitted from the support the Malvernian Society offers.
Antonia Weiss (3.03-05) Architect and historian
The help I was offered by Malvern was instrumental in allowing me to come to the College in the first place. The education I received was life-changing in every way for me, laying the basis for my academic and professional career ever since: I went on to study Architecture at Cambridge and later at Princeton, and after several years practicing with leading design firms across Europe, I am
now pursuing a PhD in History at the University of Amsterdam.
James Vivian (3.90-92) Director of Music,
St George’s Chapel, Windsor
I very much enjoyed my time at the College. My studies there enabled me to win an organ scholarship to King’s College, Cambridge and then to forge a career as a musician. I was awarded a Major Music Scholarship at Malvern and the substantial fee assistance of this award enabled me to take up the place. Through the Malvernian Society Assisted Places scheme, I hope that many pupils in the future will benefit from the first-class education and opportunities that Malvern College offers.
Ani King, Hundred
Assisted Place recipient
I am incredibly grateful to the Malvernian Society for making
it possible to attend such a great school, which has given me
so many fantastic opportunities. Last year, I had the amazing experience of playing violin in the Concerto Concert with a professional orchestra, and I was in the drama scholars’ production of ‘Wolf Hall’ in the newly refurbished Rogers Theatre. I enjoy Debating, Hockey, the Literary Society, Aston Society, Shooting Club, Chess Club, Fives, CCF and DofE, and I don’t know anywhere else that offers so many co-curricular choices.
The experience I have gained as a result has dramatically widened my options for the future
