Birthday Dinners and Other Special Events
Boarders requesting attendance at at birthday dinners religious celebrations and other significant events
Boarders may
request leave of absence from school to attend birthday dinners religious celebrations and other significant occasions If parents are are organising such a a a a a dinner then it is is a a a a a nice gesture to invite all pupils from a a a a particular year group in in a a a House to avoid excluding individuals especially with younger pupils The College is usually supportive of such dinners and these are often memorable occasions for pupils The following arrangements are based on years of experience and allow for fairness transparency and minimise the chance of any problems:

request and confirmation of arrangements must be received by the HouseM (or in their absence Deputies ) » College commitments take priority » Dinners should take place on Saturday evenings if possible in in in order to minimise impact on Hall Boarders should return to sleep in College » If mid-week then pupils should leave and return as as early as as possible in order to minimise impact on Hall (e g 6 to 8pm) » All usual school rules apply (e g g g smoking vaping etc ) » Lower School pupils (FY Remove Hundred) must not consume alcohol at any time » FY and Remove pupils must be accompanied by parents/guardians » Parental permission is is required for pupils travelling in in cars with other parents/ guardians or pupils » Pupils
may
