This year, we will celebrate World Communion Sunday on October 7. We invite you to bring a loaf of bread with you to the 10:45 worship service on that Sunday. The loaves of bread will be given to the Odessa Community Service Center for families needing assistance. We will ask God’s blessing over the bread and for God’s blessing to the ones receiving it.
2018 Heartland District Charge Conference
According to the UMC Book of Discipline, the primary responsibilities of the charge conference in the annual meeting shall be to review and evaluate the total mission and ministry of the church (¶¶ 120-124), receive reports, and adopt objectives and goals recommended by the church council that are in keeping with the objectives of The United Methodist Church. Every year the district churches come together to hold Charge Conference.
This year’s Conference will be held at First UMC’s Celebration Center in Sedalia on October 21th from 2:00-5:00pm. Missional Goal Training/Workshops will be held from 2:-3:15, Charge Conference will be from 3:30-4:00, and Worship from 4:00-5:00. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
