RECIPROCATING SAW BLADES
TECHNICAL BLADE ANATOMY
TPI: Teeth Per Inch
The lower the TPI, the faster the blade will cut. The higher the TPI, the cleaner the blade will cut.
Tilt Angle
The tilt angle is the angle at which the blade cuts into the material. A higher tilt angle produces a faster, more aggressive cut. Tilt angle is optimized based on application for best life-to-speed ratio.
Gullet
The space between each tooth that collects and clears out the material being cut. The deeper the gullet, the more efficiently the chips are cleared.
Blade Shapes
Taper blade bodies are designed for plunge cutting, curve cuts and easier starts in tough to reach applications. Non-taper bodies offer more stability and straighter cuts.
Settings
Blade tooth settings vary from one blade to another to optimize cutting efficiency by material applications.
Body Thickness
Thinner blades offer faster cutting and flexibility for flush cutting. Thick kerfs offer straighter and more stable cutting.
Reinforced Tooth
A wide tooth base with a smaller gullet results in a stronger tooth design.

Wood Demolition
Bigger pitch, bigger gullet followed by a reinforced tooth to clear material and increase speed of cut.
Smaller pitch, smaller gullet followed by an aggressive tooth to clean out material and improve finish of cut.

TOOTH DESIGN
Designed with optimal tooth spacing, shape and cutting angle to provide the best possible speed, cut and performance.
BLADE MATERIAL
HIGH CARBON STEEL (HCS)
For use in softer materials such as wood, laminated chipboard, PVC and other plastics.
BI-METAL (BI-M)
Highly flexible and tough combination of harder HSS teeth and a more flexible HCS body: suitable to use for the most demanding applications.
TUNGSTEN CARBIDE GRIT (HCS/TC Grit)
The HCS blade coated with Tungsten Carbide Grit, used for materials such as glass, ceramic tile, and cast-iron and brick.
TUNGSTEN CARBIDE TEETH (HCS/TCT)
The HCS blade with Tungsten Carbide Teeth for cutting abrasive materials such as FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics), hardwoods, aerated concrete, bricks, and fiber cement board.
Side Set and Milled
For fast, rough cuts in wood and plastics.
Side Set and Ground
For clean, fast cuts in wood and plastics.
