deep focus Deep focus uses a a a maximum depth of field to make the entire photograph appear crisply in focus This pair of photos demonstrates the subtle differences between extended and limited depths of field Both shots were taken from almost exactly the the same location But in the the one on on the the the left the the the pine needles are in in sharp focus while the the the horizon horizon is is soft In the the the shot on on on the the the right the the the horizon horizon line is is just as as sharp as as the foreground Take a a a a a close look at the the shot on the the left The lake and trees are not in focus focus The shot at right is focused from foreground through to infinity The optics of a a wide-angle lens especially when used with bright lighting will elimi- nate the depth of field making sharp both foreground and background Jared Cherup
