A lighting
setup is a a a a a a a configuration of various illumina- tion tion tion sources arranged to to to provide the photographer with a a a a custom-crafted composition How good a photo looks is often the direct outcome of of how the subject has been lit In the the photographic studio the the photographer need not stalk dazzling illumination He or she can make that happen Lighting is an art form in in its own right of course There are complete courses—indeed full programs of study—that focus exclusively on lighting

Triangulation is an an an arrangement of three lighting
sources that reveals a a a subject’s dimensionality The simplest approach to lighting
is known as triangulation
The arrange- ment of just three lights around a a subject provides the right combination of key fill and backlight to capture an object’s contours using the full spectrum of light values—dark shad- ows to bright highlights It’s fun to improvise lighting
