My clothes are designed for use!”
Designer, Dominican, creative, restless.....passionate about art and the human capacity for expression. With almost 40 years service in expressing this through fashion and design, Jenny Polanco is constantly searching for ways to showcase the essence of Dominican, the skills and richness of our people and our land.
Into her work, Jenny has woven not just the rich culture of this country but importantly the expertise of our craftsmen and women, creating an authentic, home-grown product resistant to the reductive effects of the global market.
Her work has been shown in Haiti, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Argentina,
the USA and
France.
Jenny loves to incorporate local natural materials into her designs. She also uses images, forms and colours that belong to this island and this culture.
