Camps - Frequently Asked Questions...
Answers Everyone Should Know
Interested in this program but have questions and want more information? Go to our website and click on “Parent Meeting Video.”
Q: Can my child walk home from day camp or do I pick them up?
A: At the time of registration you chose between three options:
Your child is allowed to come and go to the site as desired (staff will not keep a child at site)
OR You will only be sending a specific set of adults who your child may be released to (all named at the time of registration, who will show ID to the staff before your child may leave) OR Release child to SACC
(only at Erie & Ottawa) OR Lunch Pass (all other sites). Q: What time is lunch?
A: Each site is closed for
lunch from 11:45am – 12:30pm.
There are options:
We will be offering an optional
“Lunch Pass.” For an additional
$45 for the summer, your child will be supervised
at the site by our staff! SACC only at Erie and Ottawa. Lunch is NOT provided, you must provide your own lunch.
Q: When are field trips? NEW Online Registration!
A: Weeks 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 there are field trips. For the safety of your child, we keep the ratio to one staff person for every nine children. Not every child can attend every field trip. When there is a field trip scheduled the site is closed for the children not attending that trip. Children must be a regular participant to attend field trips. SACC is available for a fee at
Erie & Ottawa Only.
Q: How do I know what my child will be doing each day?
A: Each Monday, the day camp staff will have a newsletter and lesson plan available for each day of the week. These will also be available at our website www.clintontownship.com/recreation. This will help your child attend the activities they are most interested in.
Q: How is a day camp different from daycare?
A: This program can be a great addition to your child’s summer but it is not a daycare program. Children should be prepared to take part in each activity whether they attend one activity or all of them. For the most positive experience, review the weekly lesson plan with your child and plan their week accordingly.
