RESIDENCY
Clinton Township Recreation IS A TAXPAYER FUNDED ENTITY. Therefore, we must spend Clinton Township tax dollars primarily on Clinton Township Taxpayers. We do, however, service a considerable amount of non-residents who pay fees for our programs. All families are deserving of your best effort on the job regardless of residency.
We service non-residents, but, since they pay no taxes to the Township, they must be assessed a higher fee. This price differential makes up the difference for office space, staff, utilities, etc. It also ensures that the main benefit of our programs goes to the Township tax payers. Please review the definition of a resident and the rationale for these fees so that you can represent the department both professionally and diplomatically in all conversations on this subject with the public.
