Although his school newspaper publication business of eight years was doing well, and the publication was well received by local schools, Raad Alawan felt from a financial perspective he needed something more. He turned his career towards real estate and in 2017 he joined the RE/MAX brand. For Raad, choosing RE/MAX was a no brainer. He explains, “I am grateful to work for a company whose reputation for selling homes is second to none. The RE/MAX brand stands alone.”
Having savvy marketing skills, it wasn’t just the power of the brand that attracted Raad, but it was all the programs that RE/MAX has in place to help agents build their business. In just one short year, Raad has taken advantage of the How Hot Air Rises and Personal Billboard programs, and he has been a guest on the RE/MAX Real Estate Insights Show.
“I am very grateful for the resources RE/MAX has to offer,” says Alawan. “The reason I took advantage of all three programs is to stay top of mind and reinforce that I sell real estate full time.” Hosting the How Hot Air Rises event was a great way to connect with his sphere of influence in the education world and it gave him a sense of giving back to an area he has been so passionate about. Raad also saw huge opportunity in being on the radio show. He explains, “This was an opportunity for me to share with listeners how important marketing is when selling a home.” Raad has already received great feedback from the community based on his participation in these programs. “It is not always easy to measure the results of your efforts, but the feedback I have received proves success,” says Alawan.

MARK CONNON
While selling real estate and working a factory job simultaneously to make ends meet, Mark Connon recognized the need to be with a brand that would provide him the means to leave his factory job and focus solely on real estate. He decided to leave the small independent brand he was with to join RE/MAX. Connon explains, “After interviewing the top ten brokerages, I saw that the power of the RE/MAX brand and its reputation for success is what I needed to help me build a successful real estate business.”
Training, technology, and office support were Mark’s main goals. In just two years, Mark has taken courses on RE/MAX University and has attended numerous regional trainings and educational events as well as the R4 Conference in Las Vegas. Additionally, the RE/MAX Mobile App, ACE, and Design Center Listing Automation are just a few tools that have given Mark that huge advantage he was looking for.
Since joining RE/MAX, Mark has never looked back. He explains, “Since joining RE/MAX First, I have been given all the resources and support by brokers and peers to leave my factory job and solely focus on my success as a RE/MAX agent. I have doubled my business both years with RE/MAX, and look forward to growing my business even more moving forward.”
