Bill Bouscher of RE/MAX Classic, a long-time real estate agent of 20 years, was recommended by his broker to be on the RE/MAX Real Estate Insights Show because of his expertise in Code of Ethics and Professional Standards. Bill was hesitant at first, but once he spoke with show host and producer, Jeanette Schneider, he realized that being on the show could be a huge benefit to his business and that the process was simple. He explained, “I worked with Jeanette to find out what would appeal to the listeners the most and worked up my dialogue from there. She then reviewed everything, added a few suggestions and we were done and ready to go.”
Positioning yourself as an expert to listeners, leveraging the show on social media and sharing your experience with your sphere of influence is how our agents benefit from being on the show. Bill shared photos from his show’s recording and comments about his experience on his personal Facebook page. He also shared that he was going to be on the show with his clients, friends and business associates about a week before hand. He explained, “More people than I could have expected actually tuned in and listened to the whole show. I received a lot of feedback and a lot of positive comments about the subject material we covered.” After the show aired, Bill received a call from a listener seeking advice based on the material he had shared. For him, this reinforced that taking the time to be on the show helped position him as an expert and helped to promote himself and his business.
When asked about the overall experience he explained, “Initially I was a little anxious simply because it was a new experience, but three minutes in front of the microphone and I was fine. Jeanette is an excellent interviewer and within moments a radio interview became a friendly conversation. I completely forgot about our audience and spoke directly to her. If I were asked to be on another show, I would jump at the chance.”
