Dear Friends,

We do the Gala each year, out of our deep commitment to the Museum and
its mission. And you join us to support that mission. But this year is special. There
are few people who mean as much to the Museum as tonight’s honoree, Jan
Adelson. The Museum that we love so much is so great an addition to our
community because of Jan’s efforts over the last 18 years.

It takes many people to make a party but we were a little handicapped this
year. How can you expect your honoree to work on her own committee?
But we want to thank Jan Adelson, after all it is still a Gala. Also thanks to
Eileen Price-Farbman, Bonnie Bell-Curran, and Nancy Montag for their help.
Mark Kramer and his team at Susan Lawrence Caterers have again outdone
themselves with tonight’s menu. Thanks to Willo for tonight’s flowers, to Clay
Lifflander for the generous donation of tonight’s wine, and to Dodds Liquors.
Thanks also to the donors who gave so generously to the auctions and the
evening’s sponsors you see in the Gala Journal.

Grateful thanks to our Chairs, Vice Chairs, Supporters, and Patrons. Your extra
commitment makes a real difference in this evening’s results. Thank you to all of
you here tonight. Eat and drink well and enjoy each other’s company. But, most
of all know you have helped the Museum do the important work it is committed
to doing and honored the achievement of an extraordinary leader — Jan.
