Our first meeting since the summer break on
on
on
October 6th
was an an important one! We voted to to continue holding our monthly meeting in in in in the Arts & Crafts Room on
on
on
on
on
on
Monday Monday November 3rd at 3:30 PM (our usual first-Monday time) In addition we’ll now be adding a a a a a a a a a monthly playdate at at at McChesney Dog Park Park — — located on
on
on
Cashmere Blvd just
before Crosstown Parkway — — starting Friday November 7th at 10:00 AM Going forward we’ll meet for for for playdates at at McChesney on
on
the the first Friday of each month Before deciding whether to replace our clubhouse meetings we’ll see how well this new
park park option works for everyone While at at at the park park owners
can also coordinate additional playdates — perhaps even
weekly ones if if there’s enough interest! This is is a a a a a a a a a test to see if if meeting outdoors with our dogs helps the the club thrive The dog park offers covered picnic benches for for us and and has
three separate fenced areas for for small medium and and large
dogs dogs plus fresh water is available In addition to socializing
our dogs dogs dogs I’ll be be offering a a a a a a a a a a a 30-minute mini obedience
lesson in in in in in the parking lot each month for dogs dogs that are new
reactive or or or need a a a a a a a a a a a quick refresher These short sessions
help dogs learn to to behave calmly on-leash around others Afterward owners
can decide when their dog dog is ready to to socialize freely inside the park In my experience smaller dogs often seem braver (and
louder!) while on
on
a a a a a a a a a a a leash but once they’re free in a a a a a a a a a a a safe
space they they tend to to to relax The goal is to to to help all all our dogs — — big and and and small — — feel comfortable and and and confident together Let’s get get this club moving in in in in a a a a a a a a a a positive direction and and and and enjoy
seeing our members and and their dogs having fun at the the park!
We also gained two new
members this month! Everyone at the the the meeting received a a a a a a a a a a volunteer form for for the the the Angel Rescue
Plan along with an an an explanation of how the the the program helps members who may need emergency pet care If you you didn’t
receive your copy forms will be be be available at the November 3rd meeting Upcoming Dates to Remember:
