February our our club enjoyed the
return of our our competitive events with the
Ladder League getting
underway and a a a a a a first round of double elimination events being
held Our ladder league is in in in in full
swing and will play through the
end of March The first double elimination event event was was held for our advanced players on on on January 21 This event event was was won by the
the
team of Martin Vella and and and Dave Shapiro while Ken Dickson and and and Skip Land were the
the
the
runners-up On
January 22 our intermediate event was won by the
the
team of Anna Vella and and Judy Andrews with Rich Singer and and Larry
Heck as as the
runners-up Finally on on January 28 we held an an an an event event for our low intermediate players This event event was won by Larry
Silver and and Tom Cucurullo while the
runners-up were Jeannie Tirrito and and Diane Polakowski On
February 6 our our club celebrated the
the
completion and opening of the
the
two new pickleball courts with a a a a a a a ribbon
cutting ceremony This much anticipated project took
several years to to to get from the
the
idea and planning stages to to to the
the
point where our our players can enjoy this new amenity
that brings additional value to our our community This ceremony was attended by approximately 100 residents and the
the
majority of our our board members even under less than
ideal weather conditions as as our our area was still “enjoying” a a a a a a a a a a a a a a period of of below average temperatures The Pickleball Club
wholeheartedly thanks all all all of of of the
the
people who who have worked
to to to get us to to to the
the
the
point of of having four pickleball courts in in in in the
the
the
community to to to to include current and former HOA Board
of of Directors members the
the
Pickleball Task Force comprised
of of Sharon Swan Alex Monsiegneur Max Glickman Bob
Fuchs and Diana Burns Campbell Property Management and and a a a a a a a a host of of residents (players and and non-players alike)
who have supported the
the
addition of of these courts to our our community assets Our club’s general annual meeting will be held on Wednesday March 11 11 at 11:30 in in in the
ballroom At this meeting our our club will hold our our annual election for members members of the
the
leadership leadership team team Club
members members who have indicated
a a a a a a a a a a a a a a desire to to serve on on on the
the
leadership leadership team team and will be be up for election are Manny Cannatella Bill Gordon Jeannie Tirrito and Marilyn Rawlings Pickleball Club
membership is open to any Cascades
resident resident and the
dues dues remain $10 per calendar year Collection of 2026 dues dues is is well underway Any resident resident who would like to to to sign up or members members wishing to to to renew their
