Congratulations to the VECA Electric team for being the 2021 Fastest Bed Champions!
Our team theme was “Construction Workers”. It was made up of the following team members:
Tim Grieb (VECA electrician)
Johnny Lahr (VECA electrician)
Derek Kestrel (Husband of VECA Service/SP Associate PM Alyssa Kestrel)
Zac Graham (Service and Special Projects Manager)
Theo Scherrer (Zac’s nephew and lightweight/fearless guy to ride the bed that he had no control over)
We ran 8-10 races and won every single one! Our racebed was constructed by VECA employees and utilized a four-bend saddle stick of conduit for the front push bar. The cone on the front was intended for style only but also acted as a safety device when we overtook other teams.
A NOTE FROM FAMILY PROMISE TO THE VECA TEAM
The Family Promise Bed Race event has grown over the years and we appreciate VECA joining as a sponsor this year. We hope to see you back next year to defend your title. All together Over $26,000 was raised through donations and sponsorships to support children and their families experiencing homelessness in Whatcom County. Thank you for your support and donations!
