AWARDS
STAR AWARD RECIPIENTS
Two of VECA's very own received the "Individual of the Year" award from Mortenson for 2021. Below is a little about what the Star Award is based on, and how individuals
or companies are chosen.
SEATTLE PARTNER RECOGNITION
The purpose of the Star Awards program is to acknowledge and thank our trade partners that go above and beyond to make our projects successful.
Every year we select the most deserving companies and individuals to recognize based on Mortenson Team Member nominations. There are two nomination categories:
Company of the Year:
A trade partner that has demonstrated leadership in quality, safety, preconstruction, innovation, diversity, etc.
Individual of the Year:
Anyone who is a part of a trade partner firm that has stood out in making the project more successful. This person can be a project manager, superintendent, foreperson, estimator, etc.
We greatly appreciate the leadership and the crucial role our partners play in the success of our business.
Congratulations to Cody Leckner & Bryan Miller!

Cody Leckner

Cody Lecker was nominated and selected to receive a Mortenson Star Award. This award is to acknowledge and show the well-deserved appreciation to Cody for consistently going above and beyond as a valuable team leader. Cody was nominated by Dana Malek and Matt Rafdal for his contributions to the success of the Swedish Cutline Project. This Star Award is a prime example of Cody demonstrating the VECA Values.
The Cutline Project has been a 6-year project among many other interwoven projects to physically identify and separate adjoining high-rise hospital buildings scheduled for demolition to make way for the new Swedish North Tower Hospital Facility. This has been a methodical and detailed process over the years to identify all shared systems and isolate them from each other without disrupting the ongoing daily hospital operations.
The award was presented to Cody by Mortenson Project Executive Mark Baughman at lunch attended by Mortenson, Swedish, VECA executives, and team members.
Bryan Miller

Bryan Miller was nominated and selected to receive a Mortenson Star Award for a field personnel partner, which to date has made our Main Terminal Low Voltage project with Mortensen so successful.
Bryan received this award due to his dedication to providing excellent service to Mortensen, the design consultants,
and the project owner exceeding all expectations, and
has not gone unnoticed. The current status of the project would not be where it is today without his comprehensive participation in this very complex project.
The award was presented to Bryan by the Mortenson team pictured above at lunch attended by Mortenson, VECA executives, and team members.
