Services Potential for Business Value Creation
Value creation is a
concept that is
concerned with how
we create value. Value
is always gauged by
the perception and
understanding of the
customer. The
customer only cares
about services that
allow them to achieve
their objective more
easily than they would
otherwise be able to
achieve it. If we create and deliver services which allow this achievement, we may become viewed by the business as strategic to their success. Assets that are strategic to us are usually protected, and invested in. If we do not provide strategic value, then we are usually considered to be only an asset that could very easily be replaced with any other asset of equal value. Since we are not strategic, our value is typically viewed as suspect.
