WHERE TRADITION AND INNOVATION UNITE
Started in 1950 Christ Our King-Stella Maris, provides an outstanding Catholic education for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. Through strong programs in academics, fine arts, stewardship, and athletics, both staff and students are challenged to fully explore their talents, to equip themselves with the necessary knowledge to interact with the complex global world around them, and to lead active faith-filled lives as true disciples of Christ.
The header of the school's website reads, "Where Tradition and Innovation Unite." In keeping with this valued statement, Christ Our King reached out to The Office People to create a classroom environment that would inspire collaboration, healthy movement, and most of all—innovation.
Research has confirmed that moderate movement in the classroom can improve focus and concentration. Things like standing desks, chairs with wheels, chairs with footrests, or chairs with curved legs for rocking are simple, yet they improve on-task behavior.
