STUDY FINDS PLASTIC IN BOTTLED WATER
More than 90 percent of some of the most popular bottled water brands contain tiny particles of plastic. That's according to research conducted at the State University of New York by Orb Media, a nonprofit journalism group, which detected "constellations" of plastic in brands including Aqua, Aquafina, Evian and Nestle Pure Life. Full report available at theofficepeople.com. Tests on

brands showed contamination

polypropylene, nylon and
polyethylene terephthalate.

millimeter size range were

"Orb's findings suggest that a person who drinks a liter of bottled water a day might be consuming tens of thousands of microplastic particles each year," it said. Researcher Sherri Mason of the State University of New York at Fredonia told AFP that 65% of the plastic particles found were "fragments" of plastic, and included the plastic used to make some bottle caps. The World Health Organization confirmed that it is launching a review into the potential risks of drinking bottled water.
