Triceratops was the biggest of the horned dinosaurs. The skull is one of the biggest known among fossilized dinosaur skulls, up to 2.4 m (8 ft.) long. It lived during the Late Cretaceous
(68-66 MYA) and weighed ~9,070 - 12,000 kg (20,000 - 26,500 lbs). The Department of Paleobiology at Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History is home to over 40 million specimens, representing fossil invertebrates, vertebrates, and plants from all over the world.
