Graded stakes winner, Omega Code, by Elusive Quality - Tin Oaks, by Deputy Minister, was purchased privately by Peaceful Valley Farm after he did not sell at the 2015 Keeneland November Sale. Peaceful Valley Farm owner Anthony Bilotta stated that the stallion probably would have sold in the ring if he had not been sick at the time. “We couldn’t get him out
of there fast enough,” said Anthony who was very concerned for the horse’s well-being at the time of the sale.
Omega Code was brought to Peaceful Valley Farm and was immediately put under the care of Linda Johnston who hand walked the then 15 year-old horse through the hills of the beautiful farm and nursed
him back to health. On a whim, Anthony purchased Peaceful Valley Farm from Jack and Linda Johnston in 2013, however he had the wherewithal to keep the experienced couple on at the farm. “Linda is a great stallion handler,” noted Anthony, “It was important to me to keep Jack and Linda on the farm to ensure that breeding went well.”
Named the Alberta HBPA Horse People of the Year in 2010, Jack and Linda had owned the 160 acre Peaceful Valley Farm for more than 28 years. The couple had made the decision to retire and sell the farm and mentioned their plans to Anthony on the serendipitous day that he visited the farm to see his favourite stallion Alydeed.

New ThermoRegulator Healthcare Tool launched by Equine Guelph
Equine Guelph has partnered with internationally renowned blanket manufacturer, Bucas of Ireland and is pleased to announce the launch of the ‘ThermoRegulator Healthcare Tool’.
The new interactive online tool explores thermoregulation in all seasons to help horse owners avoid over-heating and dehydration along with a variety of sicknesses caused as a result of chilling and other preventable health concerns.
Nature has provided horses with a coat for all seasons, as every horse owner can attest during the hairy days of shedding season. Long hairs rise up creating an insulating layer in the cold months. Sleek shorter hairs part in the hot season to help the horse stay cool, but there is much more to thermoregulation than the length of hair coat.
